    The M-65 Field Coat 50th Anniversary Collection
    In late 1965 Alpha Industries was awarded its first contract by the U.S. military to manufacture the newly designed M-65 Field Coat. Alpha quickly became one of the top producers for the Department of Defense. Inspired by the rugged nylon/cotton (NYCO) sateen shell, heavy-duty brass zipper and distinctive Olive Green color of the original, this special 50th anniversary collection was born.

    Each limited edition jacket has a brass plate with its number in the collection.

    An Exclusive Collection
    The M-65 50th Anniversary capsule includes limited edition items that were produced in small numbers. Owning ones of these is a must for any Alpha fan. The collection will be available in Fall 2015.

    The shell is a heavy-washed cotton slub.

    Commemorative patches were developed for the 50th anniversary.

    Extra details were added such as the nylon web belt with metal clasp.

    We took our Slim Fit M-65 Field Coat and gave it a makeover for the 50th. The shell has been upgraded to a cotton slub and nylon web details have been added. A special series of embroidered anniversary patches were developed for the coat and the back features a screen print. SHOP NOW

    Commemorative anniversary patches enhance the look of the liner.

    The shell features a quilted rip-stop nylon.

    50th Anniversary M-65 Liner
    This reversible liner can be buttoned into the 50th Anniversary M-65 Field Coat or worn as a stand alone lightweight jacket. The liner features binding around the pockets and edges, knit cuffs and the 50th anniversary patches. SHOP NOW
  • Jungle Backpack

    Contrast nylon webbing detail pays homage to the Tropical Rucksack.

    The three exterior pockets were designed to look like M-65 Field Coat pockets.

    Jungle Backpack
    The Alpha Industries x Manhattan Portage backpack was inspired by the U.S. Army's Tropical Rucksack developed in the mid-1960s. It's constructed of the same nylon/cotton fabric as the M-65 Field Coat. The backpack features a large drawstring compartment with room for a 15" laptop, antique brass hardware, dual-buckle closure and padded mesh back and shoulder straps. SHOP NOW
  • Mollie Backpack

    The backpack is made from the same NYCO material as the vintage M-65 Field Coat.

    The large zippered pouch with nylon webbing is removable.

    MOLLE Backpack
    The Alpha Industries x Manhattan Portage MOLLE Backpack was influenced by the U.S. Army's current modular bag system. It features a large zippered main compartment with room for a 15" laptop, drawstring and zippered pockets under the flap and padded mesh back, shoulder straps and waist stabilizer.     The zippered pockets feature antique brass hardware.

    The bag is made from the olive green nylon/cotton sateen of the traditional M-65 Field Coat.

    The Alpha Industries x Manhattan Portage shoulder bag was inspired by the M-65 Field Coat itself. It features an expandable interior compartment with divider, zippered and snap close pockets under the flap and three exterior pockets.   • M-65 50th Anniversary Collection
    The Inspiration
    Many different things influenced our design team in creating this collection. From the vintage M-65 Field Coats we produced under our first DOD contract to the artistic M-65s done by renowned Japanese designers. The accessories such as the watch, boots and bags all pay homage to their authentic military counterparts used during the Vietnam jungle combat operations.
