What does a soldier mean when he says “Tango Mike”?

“Tango Mike” is slang – derived from the NATO Phonetic Alphabet – meaning “Thanks much.” It’s a common sign-off when communicating via radio. Sure, “Tango Mike” actually has more syllables than “Thanks much,” but it has a much cooler ring to it.
