US Air Force Thunderbirds and US Navy Blue Angels

Yesterday two U.S. Armed Forces jets crashed within hours of one another. The first incident happenend at the U.S. Air Force Academy commencement ceremony when a Thunderbirds F-16 crashed while trying to land following a flyover. The pilot, Maj. Alex Turner, was able to eject to safety. President Obama was in attendance at the graduation and later met with the pilot to ensure he was OK.

The second crash occurred when a F/A-18 from the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels went down during a practice for The Great Tennessee Air Show. The plane went down soon after it took off. U.S. Naval Aviator, CAPT Jeff Kuss USMC, died from the injuries suffered in the accident. Our hearts go out to the family of CAPT Kuss.
