2016 was definitely the year of the bomber jacket. Consequently, it was a great year over here at Alpha Industries! Check out the gallery above for some highlights from the past year.
The year started off with Alpha jackets being spotted on dozens of celebs, from the Kardashian/Jenners to rapper Logic. In March, Alpha made its first appearance at South by Southwest, a major music festival in Austin, TX. Alpha bombers were spotted on local talent, festival performers, and even Joe Jonas! Alpha was seen throughout award show season, most notably on rapper The Weeknd as he swept the Billboard Music Awards, with a total of eight awards by the end of the night.
Spring 2016’s theme of exploration gave way to Fall, which was all about self-expression with the help of the MA-1 Flex Jacket and Alpha Patch Program. Working with numerous retail partners, Alpha was highly visible in stores such as Barney’s, Nordstrom, Opening Ceremony, and Urban Outfitters. Alpha partnered with numerous brands for collabs in 2016, including ALife and Vetements. In November, Alpha participated in the first ever ComplexCon, a consumer-facing tradeshow/ festival held in Long Beach, CA, held by Complex Magazin
Alpha continued to support its two major philanthropies, Warrior Aviation and Our Military Kids, throughout 2016. Alpha hit the road for several air shows in the 2016 season, from Geneseo, NY to Virginia Beach, VA. Along with The Warrior Flight Team (the flight team that supports aviation), Alpha partnered with Playboy Enterprises to launch the Vandy MA-1. Named after the iconic Vandy jet flown by The Warrior Flight Team, proceeds from the jacket help to support the charity.
Throughout 2016, Alpha was seen in major magazines, including People, Esquire, GQ, and Teen Vogue. Most recently, Alpha was featured in various articles on Complex, Hypebeast, and Highsnobiety.
