Today is September 11. It has also come to be known as Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance. It’s today we remember those we lost on that tragic Tuesday in 2001, but it is also the day we celebrate how the country pulled together and stood up to terror. On this, the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks, we look at how this defining event in American history is being recognized.

1) President Obama marked the anniversary and paid tribute to the victims, survivors, first responders, and those who have served our country in his weekly address.

2) National Geographic looks back by remembering 9/11 through pictures.

3)  Two beams of light shoot up from the memorial site in NYC in the Tribute in Light.

4) The 9/11 Memorial Museum opens a new exhibition in which 13 artists show their interpretation of the events.

5) A teen who was born on 9/11/01 shares his perspective on the events and how he plans to recognize the anniversary.
